Easy Grammar Plus

From the beginning of our homeschool journey, I've NEVER been a fan of Easy Grammar for English. It seemed anything but easy to me, one who does not get grammar. My son is doing Easy Grammar this year at a co-op. Though I dislike Easy Grammar, I dislike actually teaching grammar more. If someone else is willing to "teach" him grammar then I will submit to whatever their choice of curriculum is..... So Easy Grammar it is.
Having said that, as I've supervised my son's work this year, I'm finding that all of a sudden I'm understanding grammar! Wow! I have a bachelor's degree in education, but have never understood things like direct objects.
I think I have to change my stance on Easy Grammar. Maybe it really is that easy to understand and maybe I've been a little hasty in declaring that I don't like it. My son is learning the material and understanding it. It's simple and straightforward, which appeals to both of us. It's easy for me to grade. Most of all, he gets it (and so do I).

Apologia Chemistry

The Apologia Chemistry is very cool. It makes all the subjects a little bit easier to understand, even the subjects that are, by their very nature, difficult to comprehend.The pictures are very colorful and informative.I enjoy doing chemistry with Apologia because it has a lot of interesting subjects that I want to learn more about. I also like a challenge, and this chemistry course provides that.

Explode the Code book 1

The Explode the Code series is very fun. The pictures in the books make it easier for kids to connect the word and the picture, even if the kids have troublie reading. The pictures are also entertaining.The books are easy to move through, and it looks like they would be easy to teach.

Wordly Wise 3000 Book 8

The Wordly Wise series is a series of books that focuses mainly on vocabulary memorization and word usage. At the begining of each lesson,they present a list of ten words and definitions. Then, students go through five parts where they have to use the words. It is a very good series that offers a balance of challenging and easy excersises to help build vocabulary.

Apologia Physical Science

The Apologia Physical Science is very interesting. Having not yet advanced to the books that deal with specific areas like chemistry or biology, this physical science book teaches a little bit about a lot of different things. Many of the subjects discussed here will be covered in more detail in a later course. It is a very good book that deals with light, Newton's laws, and other scientific information.
